Fire Workers

Local ranchers working the fire.  Strong lines and shapes make for a more powerful painting.  Here I was trying to grab the eye with the barn roof in the background then circle around the workers and finally settle on the lower center (the eye resting point) at the end of the shovel. To keep the brain interested, the fellow on the left with arm outstretched--what is he doing?

Little Girl Cook

I like the ambiance of this picture--dark home, small primitive stove and a little girl setting a large pot to help cook the family meal.  I was inspired by a small photo that I saw in a local newspaper--loved the composition, light and shadow shapes and most importantly, the subject matter--I had to paint it!  Hope you enjoy! 16"x 20", oil on canvas. fragman56@yahoo.com
