Mother and daughters in a tiny creek looking at....? This is tiny, plein air painting, 4"x6" oil on canvas panel. Had to capture the moment and the light.

Spring Gulch Equestrian Area
A small plein air oil on board looking down onto a gulch that is used for equestrian riding. This is sandy creek bottom complete with horse jumps, fences and a dressage area. Love to watch the contests in the summer!

Creste Butte River
A small plein air done for the Crested Butte Open Plein Air. 8"x6" oil on board. A magnificent setting! Morning by the riverside watching/listening to the gently waterfall catching the morning sun. Lovely, magical time and place for painting plein air.

Crested Butte Plein Air Open Juried Show 2015
I found a couple of photos of my first juried show--thanks to Oh Be Joyful Gallery in Crested Butte! I actually had 5 paintings juried in but the top photo shows only three of the five. A good friend of mine made the frames; he is an artist and custom frame maker.
I did not understand the rules well before entering the show. One could paint for several weeks before the judging as long as the canvas was stamped by the gallery. I showed up 2 days before the jurying, got my canvases stamped and painted 6 scenes in a day and one half. I took the paintings into the gallery wet! They juried on the spot. I was so fortunate to have met this wonderful gallery!

Parking Lot in Crested Butte
I did this one while competing in a plein air show in the beautiful town of Crested Butte, Colorado. It is a simple oil on board, 8"x6" of some aspens and flowers planted next to the parking lot at the visitor's center. It was juried into the show! It verges on the abstract which appeals to the innate senses of the viewer. I have shown this one in two shows including the juried Colorado Plein Air show that is held annually in Denver. Hope you like it and if interested, I will part with it. It is framed in a black satin wood frame with gold insert. fragman56@yahoo.com

Bear Creek
I stopped by my favorite "home waters" trout stream to do a little plein air painting and came out with this. I entered this 12"x12" oil on board into the 2015 Colorado Plein Air juried competition and was accepted! It showed in the Denver Downtown Library last year. Lots of impasto which I love. I must fish this hole as soon as I can since I know that the big troutsky lives there! $700 + shipping. I have a custom antiqued gold frame that looks spectacular on it. fragman56@yahoo.com
